Rock Pipits are found on rocky beaches in West Cork and are stockier and darker coloured than the Meadow Pipit.

In the Spring you can observe them showing off climbing into the sky with a rising song.  Then it suddenly locks the wings and glides down like a paper plane to a descending song that sounds like a toy bird running out of battery.
